The Graduate Program in Mathematics (PPMAT) of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is offered by the Department of Mathematics (Faculdade de Matemática – FAMAT) and was established in 2006, with the first class of students beginning in 2007.

Since then the Program has excelled in preparing undergraduate students to pursue their studies in a Ph.D. program or to teach in universities. We also are always working in strengthening the research output of our professors, and to promote collaborations between our researchers and those from other Universities. 

We are proud to have Capes evaluation mark 4, which is the maximum that a graduate program may have, when a Ph.D. course is not offered.

Since 2014 we have been using the "Prova Extramuros" as an additional student admission process, besides our own admission process. The Prova Extramuros test is offered in several cities in Brazil and Latin America.

The minimum period of enrollment in our Program is 24 months and the maximum period is 36 months.
